BENEFITS
Rooibos tea grows naturally in only one place on earth – the Cederberg in the Western Cape.
It’s been brewed as a tea for centuries, both as a refreshing drink and to treat health conditions. Like honeybush, rooibos tea is naturally sweet, caffeine free, and good for you in so many ways.
And Mandela Tea’s Organic Rooibos Tea is simply the best organic rooibos tea around.
WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF ORGANIC ROOIBOS TEA?
Anxiety
Rooibos tea is caffeine free and contains very little tannin, so it’s the perfect herbal tea for anxiety and nervous tension (those days when you’re feeling wired). It’s a calming drink for bedtime too.

Antioxidants
Rooibos contains flavonoids that help fight inflammation and disease, and work to balance the immune defence system.
Digestive problems
Rooibos tea has antispasmodic properties that help digestion and ease stomach and abdominal cramps. It can also soothe the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and is an excellent herbal tea for constipation.
Colic in babies
Despite little scientific evidence, South African mothers regularly give colicky babies rooibos to soothe their tummies and calm them. The herbal tea is generally added to the baby’s milk feed, or given separately in a bottle.

Allergies
Rooibos tea may help ease symptoms of allergies.
Skin benefits
A 2010 study revealed that rooibos tea added to a gel mixture reduced the appearance of wrinkles when applied to the skin.
Asthma
Rooibos tea helps dilate the vessels that carry air to the lungs. That’s good news if you suffer with asthma or regular bronchial disorders.
Diabetes
Aspalathin in rooibos may make it a useful herbal tea for diabetes by helping sufferers to lower blood sugar levels.

Heart health
Research indicates that rooibos tea may lower blood pressure and reduce levels of the ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol.

Healthy Bones and Teeth
The minerals manganese, calcium and fluoride in rooibos tea promote healthy bones and teeth.

NOTE: There are no reported negative side-effects of drinking rooibos tea. This calming beverage is safe for everyone, from pregnant women to infants and the elderly. (Leave the tea to brew for about 10 minutes to increase the antioxidant effects.)
