We volunteer with them whenever we can, which gives us a first-hand chance to see how education changes lives and gives a platform for which children and adults can take control of their own destinies.

With every box of Mandela Tea you’ll be helping to increase funding that will help to provide what is a sustainable future for the youth of South Africa. Our collective progress is dependent on how we provide for our children, and how we tackle the issue of inequality.

With a percentage of the profits of Mandela Tea going directly to the Mandela Day School Library project, Cape Tea Co furthers its commitment to linking South African business and sustainable education.

Cape Tea Co considers education a basic human right which everyone should have access to, but unfortunately, this is not always the case. So what can be done about this? The answer to this is a lot can be done, and it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that future generations have a basic level of education.

To quote Nelson: ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world…’ and we couldn’t agree more with this statement.

As well as championing the Mandela Day School Library project, Cape Tea Co has worked with several Cape Town based NPOs and community initiatives. We have contributed funding to assist with the construction of a kindergarten in the Oliboom section of the Philippi Township, which now provides pre-school education to help offer the children some assistance before they start school.

We have provided funding for various initiatives and skills training programmes in Cape Town and we hope to partner with a local NPO in the near future.
